Kampala Junior Team

Name: Farouq Ndieffi Kalinzi

Hello, I am kalinzi farouq. I was born on 12/04/1992 and I am 16 years old. I joined the Kampala Junior Team when I was 9 years old. At the age of 11 years I was spotted by the KKL coach, and then I asked permission from coach Kabugo Mansoor of Kampala Junior Team such that he can allow me to join kkl. He kindly allowed me to do so. Kampala Kids League had spotted many kids from all over Uganda, but I made it to the final ten Ugandan players. They wanted to travel and play in various tournaments in Europe. I have participated in many huge youth tournaments all over the world.

Currently I am playing in the first division league with Kampala Junior Team in Uganda. I believe that I have the talent because I played for Kampala Kids League almost for 4 years. From where I participated in Gothic world youth cup [Sweden], 3 times and I was able to win the trophy twice. Then I participated in Tivoli cup [Denmark], 3 times and fortunately we won these trophies all the time we took part in this tournament. In 2005 KKL participated in the Norway cup [Oslo] and we also emerged champions. In that very year of 2005, we won three trophies from Europe. Infact KKL became the most successful team from the African continent, in the Gothic world youth cup.

In addition to that, I was one of the key players in the KKL squad. When I was in KKL, we played many friendly games with big academies in England. For example, I played against Portsmouth and we defeated Pompey by 2-1, the games were witnessed by Tressor Lomana Lua Lua, who was by then playing for Pompey in 2004.

In 2005 KKL played against Fulham academy and we beat Fulham by 6-1. KKL played against Nottingham Forest and fortunately we won by 4-3. KKL played against Derby county again we defended our unbeaten record in that year by defeating them 4-1. In 2004 we [KKL] were supposed to play a friendly match against Arsenal academy but we found them in their holiday break. Luckily, we had a training session with the Arsenal youth coaches, and then we visited High Bury stadium.

Also, in 2005 we visited Stamford Bridge stadium. We even played against some colleges in England and we defeated them. Back in Uganda, I won the Shell-Uganda tournament with KKL, as well as the Aids Awareness International cup twice with KKL. That was the end of my soccer encounter with KKL.

In early 2006, I was called back by Mr. Mansoor Kabugo of the Kampala junior team. KJT traveled to Kenya [East Africa] where we participated in the Nairobi-International cup and we emerged champions of East Africa. This included me as the top scorer with 14 goals in the tournament, and on top of that I was the team captain. Again, I have helped the Kampala Junior Team to win the Kakungulu Youth Cup twice. I was announced as the most valuable player in the tournament. Together, theĀ  Kampala Junior Team won the Makindye Holiday Youth tournament, and again I was nominated as the best striker in the tournament. I have helped Kampala Junior Team to qualify and play in first division Kampala central.

TOGETHERNESS WE PROSPER IN REACHING OUR GOAL.
